The job of developing a campaign for Battle of Wesnoth revealed to be a complicated task where many types of expertise were needed and thus project management have been an essential part of the process.
My role in the creation of "the cafeteria" for Battle of Wesnoth has changed during the duration of the project since new tasks appeared during the path and different things had to be changed. The coding and the story were strictly connected so we needed to modify the two according with the progresses we were reaching.
The general task seemed complicated since the beginning, especially when considering my very limited programming skills and the need of knowledge of (at least) XML language. Therefore, after starting to work on the units, my main contribution has been during the process of creation of the story, of the the characters and of the general design of the story.
The story we created is based on the prototype of a mafia story and the inspiration of it came from the famous italian novel "romanzo criminale". Other inspiration (mostly for visuals and naming) came from 60's movie "Rocco e i suoi fratelli" from the famous Italian director Luchino Visconti. Additional work has been done through the webpage wordoid.com for the creation of additional name of characters
As a final task, I also took care of the final keynote presentation of the project, where i tried to summarize the main characteristics of our work.
As a final thought, i would like to add that the experience of creating this champaign has been a productive one, especially when considering the need of dividing a big task into different, small ones.
